What we do!

New North Farm is a small but productive family farm in beautiful Hubbard County, Minnesota. Our 10 acres are intensively managed with loving care to produce Certified Naturally Grown produce, meat, eggs, and nursery stock without the use of any commercial fertilizers or pesticides. To produce high quality, nutrient dense food we rely on farm generated compost, extensive crop rotations, and soil building cover crops.

Our approach to learning from and working with the land ensures our farm is ecologically responsible, climate friendly, and not a potential source of air or water contamination. It is important to us that our food is locally grown safe and healthy for our family and yours.

Our farm is constantly developing and improving in order to achieve our production and ecological goals. Our ecological approach to food and fiber production has encouraged us to plant 250 fruit trees and nut trees with more to come. Trees are widely spaced and sheep and chickens graze narrow diverse pastures between them, a practice technically referred to as silvopasture. Our 1/2 acre of dedicated vegetable production beds and high tunnel “greenhouses” (coming soon) allow us to grow a wide range of greens, tomatoes, pepper, squash, melons, leek, cucumber, and other delicious annual vegetables.
